Biography

Steve was born in Hong Kong where he displayed his talents on the piano by arranging popular songs by ear at the age of four. Although he took some lessons as a child, it wasn't until Steve was thirteen when he immigrated to the United States that he decided to take music seriously and began vigorous classical training. But even though Steve was classically trained, his passion has always been exploiting his classical roots to interpret popular piano music.

Steve later attended and graduated cum laude from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music. Contrary to common belief, Steve was not a piano performance major at USC. Rather, he majored in Music industry while playing gigs on the weekends to support himself through school. What is ironic is that even though Steve was not a piano major, he has earned every single dollar he has ever earned in his life through playing the piano ever since he was 17, when Steve began his professional career as the youngest pianist ever to be hired to perform at Nordstrom department stores. This first gig launched a triumphant performance career that flourishes to this day. Currently, Steve performs daily as the featured pianist at the ultra luxurious Montage Resort and Spa in Laguna Beach, California (www.montagelagunabeach.com), a post he has held since the inception of this luxury hotel company in 2003.

Furthermore, Steve has developed into a prolific recording artist with 10 solo piano CDs to his credit. In addition, he has also recorded 6 CDs for PianoDisc, Inc., the world's premier maker of automated piano player systems and software, and First Impression Music, Inc., a renowned audiophile label specializing in high definition recordings.

Steve's memorized repertoire includes over 2000 songs from nearly all forms and genres of popular music, including love songs, wedding music, movie themes, Christmas songs, Broadway show tunes, oldies, top 40 hits, and contemporary country music. His catalog of solo piano music recording available as music download features music from legends such as Elton John, Ray Charles, U2, Madonna, The Eagles, Stevie Wonder, Frank Sinatra, Eric Clapton, Billy Joel, the Beatles, etc, as well as contemporary favorites such as Celine Dion, Vanessa Carlton, No Doubt, Norah Jones, Josh Groban, Five for Fighting, James Blunt, Coldplay, Rascall Flatts, Keith Urban, Kelly Clarkson, Daniel Powter, Carrie Underwood, and many more.

In 2006, Steve combines his piano artistry and his entrepreneurial spirit to create the revolutionary pianoreimagined.com with his business partner Tracy Tse to serve as a music download platform to showcase his unique ability to a worldwide audience.
