Steve was born in Hong Kong where he displayed his talents on the piano by arranging popular songs by ear at the age of four. Although he took some lessons as a child, it wasn't until Steve was thirteen when he immigrated to the United States that he decided to take music seriously and began vigorous classical training.
Steve later attended and graduated cum laude from the University of Southern California School of Music. At USC, Steve studied piano performance, composition, and jazz improvisation with some of the finest musicians in the world. But unlike many of his classmates, who wanted to excel in the classical or jazz world, Steve's passion has always been exploiting his classical roots to interpret popular songs.
Steve's repertoire includes over 1500 songs from nearly all forms and genres of popular music. In addition to his exceptional musicianship, Steve charms his audiences with his unique sense of humor and delightful rapport.
Steve began his professional career at the age of seventeen when he was the youngest pianist ever to be hired to perform at Nordstrom department stores. This first gig launched a successful performance career that flourishes to this day. Currently, Steve serves as the featured pianist at the Montage Resort and Spa in Laguna Beach, California, where he performs daily.
Furthermore, Steve has developed into a prolific recording artist with nine solo piano CDs to his credit. In addition, he has also recorded for such notable companies as PianoDisc, Inc., the world's premier maker of automated piano player systems and software, and First Impression Music, Inc., a renowned audiophile label specializing in high definition recordings.
In 2006, with the help of Tracy Tse, Steve combines his piano artistry and his entrepreneurial spirit to create the revolutionary IvoryTreasures.com to serve as a platform to showcase his unique ability for a worldwide audience.
